Sara Duterte says she may be among those eyed for ICC arrest

Vice President Sara Duterte shared that she believes she could be one of the individuals the International Criminal Court (ICC) might target for arrest.

Speaking to local media in the Philippines, Duterte revealed that she had considered the possibility of her own arrest when she traveled to The Hague to visit her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is facing charges of crimes against humanity before the ICC.

Initially, she said she was permitted to visit her father daily. However, her access was later limited, and all conversations were reportedly recorded.

Duterte also named others she believes could be on the ICC’s radar, including Senators Bato dela Rosa and Bong Go, along with retired police generals Oscar Albayalde and Vicente Danao.

“Naa ko sa listahan, daghan kaayo mi nga naa sa listahan sa ICC,” she stated, meaning, “I’m on the list; there are many of us on the ICC list.”

While she confirmed her inclusion, Duterte said her name appeared after those of dela Rosa, Go, and the generals.

Atty. Neri Colmenares, counsel to the complainants, had earlier identified dela Rosa, Albayalde, and Danao as alleged co-perpetrators. Although documents posted by the ICC mention “co-perpetrators,” the names remain redacted. The ICC has yet to officially comment on Duterte’s statement.
