Woman ordered to pay AED 10,000 for assaulting ex-partner in Abu Dhabi

An Abu Dhabi court has ordered a woman to pay AED 10,000 in compensation to a man she physically assaulted during a past relationship, Gulf Today reported.

The Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases Court ruled in favor of the man, who initially sought AED 50,000 in damages for injuries and emotional trauma. The court, however, granted a reduced amount after reviewing the circumstances of the case.

The plaintiff presented a medical report confirming his injuries, and a criminal case was previously filed against the woman. She was convicted in absentia and fined AED 2,000. Although she later objected and appealed the decision, both motions were rejected, with the original ruling upheld.

The court confirmed that the woman’s actions directly caused both physical and emotional harm to the man, warranting financial compensation.
