In preparation for one of the most solemn and significant times in the Christian calendar, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oud Metha, Dubai has officially released its Holy Week and Easter 2025 schedule. The announcement includes a detailed list of liturgical services and special events from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday, welcoming the faithful to participate in the sacred traditions leading to the resurrection of Christ.
Palm Sunday Liturgy The observance begins with the Blessing of Palms followed by a series of masses starting on Saturday, April 12, with services at 6:00 AM, 7:15 AM, and 9:00 AM. Children’s and Syro-Malabar masses are scheduled at 10:30 AM, and the Youth Mass in the Main Hall will take place at 12:00 noon. Evening services include multiple language offerings, including English, French, and Arabic.
On Palm Sunday, April 13, masses will start from 6:00 AM and continue throughout the day, with special services in Arabic, Pilipino, and Malayalam languages, ensuring inclusivity for Dubai’s diverse Catholic community.
Confessions and Regular Masses From Monday to Wednesday (April 14–16), regular masses will be held with confession times from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. A special Commissioning of Lay Ministers mass is set for Tuesday, April 15 at 7:00 PM.
Triduum Observances On Holy Thursday, April 17, there will be no morning masses. The Mass of the Lord’s Supper with Washing of Feet will begin at 3:30 PM followed by an English mass and Eucharistic procession at 6:00 PM. Adoration in the Main Hall will follow from 8:30 PM to midnight. An Arabic mass is scheduled at 8:30 PM.
Good Friday, April 18, a day of fast and abstinence, features a full schedule of Stations of the Cross and the Good Friday Liturgy starting as early as 5:00 AM with services in Malayalam, Tamil, Konkani, Urdu, Singhalese, Pilipino, and English. The day concludes with an Arabic service at 8:30 PM.
Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday On Holy Saturday, April 19, there will be no morning mass. The Easter Vigil begins at 3:00 PM with an English mass, followed by services in French, English, and Arabic until 11:00 PM.
Easter Sunday, April 20, will be marked by several masses across languages, with English services beginning as early as 5:30 AM and continuing until 7:30 PM. Arabic masses are scheduled for 11:30 AM and 9:00 PM.
