UAE ranks as the second safest country in the world, according to 2025 global index

The United Arab Emirates has been ranked the second safest country globally, with a safety index score of 84.5, according to the 2025 Safety Index released by Numbeo. The country closely followed Andorra, which topped the list with a score of 84.7. Qatar came in third, while Taiwan and Oman rounded out the top five.

The latest rankings highlight the strong presence of GCC countries in the upper tier, with Oman joining Qatar and the UAE in the top five globally.

In a separate 2025 Crime Index report by Numbeo, the UAE also ranked as the country with the second-lowest crime rate in the world, further strengthening its image as a safe and secure nation.

Numbeo’s rankings are based on user-generated surveys modeled after academic and government studies. Respondents are asked about their perceptions and personal experiences with crime, safety, and violence in their respective countries.
