Dubai International Airport (DXB) is preparing for one of its busiest travel periods, with more than 3.6 million passengers expected to pass through its terminals from March 26 to April 7 during the Eid holiday rush.
The airport’s busiest day is projected to be Saturday, April 5, with about 309,000 travelers anticipated. On average, DXB expects to handle 276,000 passengers daily, with a noticeable surge in traffic during the first week of April. Departures during Eid week are forecasted to be 19% higher than average weekly numbers from the past month.
The spike in travel demand is driven by both the spring school break and strong interest in visiting friends and relatives in countries like India, Pakistan, and the UK. There’s also a rise in leisure travel to destinations such as Sri Lanka, Türkiye, and Italy.
To support passengers during the peak period, Dubai Airports is encouraging the use of DXB Express Maps, a smart tool that helps travelers navigate terminals in real-time by scanning QR codes available on flight information screens.
Enhanced services for People of Determination are also in place, including marked accessibility routes, discreet support from staff trained to assist Sunflower Lanyard wearers, and a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge in Terminal 2.
Dubai Airports, in coordination with airline and government partners, is working to ensure a smooth and seamless travel experience throughout the Eid holidays. For updates, services, and accessibility support, travelers can visit www.dubaiairports.ae.
