The Japanese Embassy in Manila has announced the launch of new visa application centers in partnership with VFS Global, set to begin operations on April 7.
Starting March 19, applicants can schedule appointments through the VFS Global website. The Japan Visa Application Centre (JVAC) will have five branches located in Cebu City, Davao City, Makati City, Parañaque City, and Quezon City.
With the opening of these centers, accredited agencies will no longer process visa applications after April 6. However, those who apply through these agencies before the cutoff date will still collect their passports from the same agency.
The embassy stated that JVAC will handle both application submissions and visa issuance, aiming to improve efficiency and convenience for applicants.
The centers will operate Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with visa application hours running from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. A center usage fee of PHP520 will be charged, in addition to the visa fee, which varies depending on the applicant’s nationality and type of application. Both fees must be paid at the time of submission.
