The National Media Office (NMO) has reiterated the importance of responsible social media use in the UAE, emphasizing respect, tolerance, and coexistence. The office warned against content that disrespects national symbols, public figures, or allied nations, stressing that violations will lead to strict legal action.
In a statement, the NMO highlighted the legal and ethical responsibilities of social media users, cautioning against sharing misinformation, hate speech, or defamatory remarks, whether direct or implied. It reaffirmed that such violations undermine the country’s safe and respectful digital space.
The office also reminded citizens of their role as representatives of the UAE, echoing President Sheikh Mohamed’s call for individuals to reflect national values through their conduct. “Every action you take, positive or negative, reflects your Emirati identity,” he stated.
Social media users were urged to align their behavior with the principles set by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which promote constructive dialogue, cultural engagement, and the legacy of Sheikh Zayed. The NMO reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring violations and taking necessary measures while encouraging the public to report non-compliant content through official channels.
