OFW suffering from job loss, bullying, and grief gets repatriation aid from PH gov’t

A Filipino worker in Los Angeles, California, who endured job loss, workplace bullying, financial struggles, and depression following a family tragedy, has been given a fresh start through government assistance.

The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Los Angeles, in coordination with the Office of the Police Attaché – Liaison Office in the U.S. West Coast (OPA-LOWC), extended repatriation aid to the distressed OFW. The support was made possible through the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) AKSYON Fund, allowing him to return to the Philippines and rebuild his life.

Labor Attaché Macy Monique Maglanque emphasized that the repatriation fulfills the worker’s plea for another chance. “Today, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac granted this wish, which was made possible through the DMW AKSYON Fund,” she said.
