NAIA Terminal 3 to add seven more OFW immigration counters by April

Starting April 1, seven additional immigration counters dedicated to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) will be operational at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.

According to the Bureau of Immigration (BI), this will increase the total number of OFW counters in the terminal to 14. BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval confirmed that 25 more immigration officers will be assigned to manage the new counters.

With this expansion, Terminal 3’s departure area will now have 57 workstations, while the arrival area features 46 workstations and eight e-gates.

Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado highlighted the move as part of a collaborative effort between the government and the private sector to prioritize the comfort and safety of OFWs.

This development follows the recent launch of an OFW lounge at Terminal 3, provided by New NAIA Infra Corp., which can accommodate up to 200 passengers and offers free food, drinks, resting areas, and charging stations.

A similar lounge was opened at Terminal 1 last year through a joint initiative involving the House of Representatives, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Department of Migrant Workers, and the Manila International Airport Authority.

Both lounges are free to use for OFWs, regardless of their ticket class.
