The Maragatty chicken broth products flagged for containing banned artificial colours are not available in UAE markets, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCae) confirmed on Tuesday, March 4.
The ministry assured the public of its ongoing efforts to protect consumer health and maintain food safety standards across the country.
This clarification comes after the Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) recalled Maragatty chicken stock cubes on February 28 due to the presence of prohibited colour additives linked to potential health risks.
Following the recall, the SFDA advised consumers to stop using the product and discard any remaining stock, adding that action has been taken against the company responsible for importing it.
MoCCae also highlighted that it continues to monitor food products closely, especially those with colour additives, as part of its commitment to safeguard public health.
Earlier this year, the ministry stepped up inspections following the US ban on Red No. 3 dye, a synthetic food colouring linked to cancer risks and commonly used in various snacks, sweets, and medicines.
