NAIA deploys additional shuttle buses to improve passenger mobility

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has expanded its inter-terminal shuttle service with the deployment of eight additional buses, airport operator New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) announced.

The new shuttles will provide free 24/7 transfers for passengers with connecting flights, enhancing mobility across terminals. NNIC President Ramon Ang emphasized that while long-term infrastructure improvements are underway, expanding the shuttle fleet is an immediate solution to ease congestion and improve accessibility.

NAIA recorded 50.1 million passengers in 2024, marking a 10.4% increase from 2023 and surpassing pre-pandemic levels by 5.1%.

Earlier this year, NNIC opened Terminal 1’s main arrival curbside to private vehicles, introduced two ambulances for medical emergencies, and deployed three “follow-me” vehicles to assist aircraft movement.

Since taking over NAIA operations in September, the San Miguel-led consortium has also increased parking fees to prioritize passengers and partnered with Meralco to enhance the airport’s power supply. Additionally, part of PAGCOR’s Nayong Pilipino property is being utilized for infrastructure projects supporting airport operations.
