President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has called on the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to safeguard the integrity of Eleksyon 2025 by ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral process.
Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony for newly promoted AFP generals, flag officers, and graduates of Foreign Pre-Commission Training Institutions, Marcos emphasized the military’s role in upholding democracy.
“We are at a crucial point where we must protect not just the integrity of our elections, but the very essence of our democracy,” he said. The President stressed that the AFP must guarantee an orderly voting process, as the nation relies on them to maintain peace and security.
To secure the midterm elections, the AFP is set to deploy at least 18,000 personnel, along with rapid response teams to address potential threats such as ambushes and armed encounters. Marcos assured the military of his administration’s full support in maintaining peace and upholding the rule of law.
During the event, the President also congratulated 35 newly promoted AFP officials and nine FPCTI graduates, recognizing their dedication and service. He urged them to uphold the AFP’s core values as they continue their mission.
