Stranger’s kindness: Driver returns wallet with P150K after woman prays for her ailing mother

A woman who lost her wallet containing P150,000 at a 7-Eleven in Baclaran was left in tears after an honest driver went out of his way to return it to her doorstep.

The woman, who shared her story with the Facebook page Visor, said she and her sister had stopped at the convenience store to eat after praying at a nearby church for their ailing mother, who had been hospitalized for two weeks. The wallet, which held funds meant for hospital expenses, was accidentally left behind.

Realizing the loss only after boarding a Grab ride home, she and her sister pleaded with the driver to return to the store, but the wallet was nowhere to be found. Heartbroken, they headed home, only to spot a familiar van near their house—one they had seen earlier at the 7-Eleven.

The driver approached them and handed over the missing wallet.

“Ma’am, nahulog mo sa paglabas mo sa 7-Eleven. Tinawag kita pero di mo ko pinansin. Pasensya na if pinakialaman ko ang ID mo pero yun lang ang paraan para makita ko ang address mo,” the driver explained, revealing he had driven from Pasay to Marikina despite being under coding restrictions.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, the woman wished she had gotten his name. “Kuya, di ko man nakuha ang name mo… pero gusto ko lang malaman mo na salamat salamat salamat nang marami sa’yo!” she wrote.
