The prestigious Miss Universe 2025 competition is officially heading to Thailand, as revealed in a teaser released by the Miss Universe Organization (MUO).
The video features reigning titleholder Viktoria Thaelvig receiving a phone call from an unidentified caller who declares, “The people have decided,” before transitioning into stunning visuals of Thailand.
MUO confirmed the announcement with a caption emphasizing the country’s hospitality: “The moment we’ve all been waiting for… unveiling the ultimate destination for the 74th Miss Universe competition… where kindness meets tradition and warm smiles welcome the world.”
Prior to this, the Philippines, Spain, Costa Rica, South Africa, Nigeria, and the Dominican Republic were among the contenders to host the event.
Thailand has previously hosted the pageant in 1992, 2005, and 2018—the latter being a historic moment for Filipinos as Catriona Gray claimed the crown. Meanwhile, the Philippines has hosted three times as well, in 1974, 2016, and 2022.
