Dubai’s Salik announces dynamic toll pricing with special Ramadan adjustments

Dubai’s Salik toll system will adopt a dynamic pricing structure starting Friday, January 31, as part of efforts to ease congestion on the city’s busiest roads. The current flat rate of AED 4 per entry will be replaced by variable pricing, with charges fluctuating based on traffic and time of day.

During weekdays, peak hours between 6 AM and 10 AM, as well as 4 PM to 8 PM, will incur the highest toll of AED 6. Drivers will pay AED 4 during non-peak hours and won’t be charged at all between 1 AM and 6 AM. On Sundays, tolls will be free from 2 AM to 7 AM, and drivers will be charged AED 4 for the rest of the day.

The structure will be adjusted further during Ramadan, anticipated to start on March 30 or 31. To accommodate fasting drivers, Salik will waive toll fees from 2 AM to 7 AM to ease travel for Suhoor and morning prayers. Additionally, charges will be reduced to AED 4 during the morning rush hour from 7 AM to 9 AM, while peak hour fees between 9 AM and 5 PM will remain AED 6.
