P15,000 cash aid awaits 137,000 college students in PH under Tulong Dunong program

Around 137,000 college students across the Philippines are set to benefit from the P2.06 billion allocated for the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) under the 2025 General Appropriations Act.

Quezon City Representative Marvin Rillo, vice chairperson of the House committee on higher and technical education, announced that each beneficiary will receive P15,000 in cash assistance for the academic year.

“In the 2025 General Appropriations Law, Congress earmarked P2.06 billion for the TDP, providing grantees with P7,500 per semester or P15,000 annually,” said Rillo, who also serves on the House appropriations panel. He emphasized the government’s commitment to sustaining the program to ease financial burdens for students pursuing higher education.

The TDP, managed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), is designed to cover partial costs of college education and related expenses. New and continuing beneficiaries must be enrolled in undergraduate programs at CHEd-accredited institutions and submit proof of enrollment to qualify for the aid.
