UAE braces for unstable weather with chances of rain until Thursday

The UAE is set to experience unstable weather conditions through Thursday, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). The forecast is attributed to the influence of a surface low-pressure system extending from the Southeast.

Rainfall is anticipated at intervals in some coastal areas, islands, and the northern and eastern regions, with skies expected to remain partly cloudy to cloudy overall. Several areas already experienced rain on Sunday night.

The NCM explained in a Khaleej Times report that the interaction of the surface low-pressure system with an upper air low-pressure system, combined with a cold air mass and strong upper winds from the West, may lead to the development of convective clouds in some parts of the country.

Winds are expected to shift from southeasterly to northeasterly and northwesterly, with speeds increasing at times, potentially causing blowing dust and sand over land areas.

Sea conditions will generally range from slight to moderate, but rough waves are possible in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea, particularly in areas with active cloud cover.
