The Philippine Army remains one of the most trusted and highest-rated government agencies, according to the Tugon ng Masa (TNM) survey conducted by OCTA Research in November 2024.
The survey revealed that 78% of adult Filipinos expressed satisfaction with the Army’s performance, leading to a net satisfaction rating of +76. Similarly, the Army earned a net trust rating of +75, with 77% of respondents expressing trust in the institution.
Regionally, the Philippine Army received the highest satisfaction rating in the Visayas (+84), followed by Mindanao (+82), the National Capital Region (+79), and Balance Luzon (+72). Among socioeconomic classes, the Army scored the highest in Class E (+80) but saw its lowest rating in Class ABC (+68).
While the overall satisfaction rating remained steady compared to August 2024, slight variations were noted. Ratings dropped in Balance Luzon and Mindanao but rose significantly in the National Capital Region and the Visayas.
OCTA Research conducted the survey through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 respondents nationwide, with a ±3% margin of error. The survey was conducted amid the Army’s active involvement in disaster response efforts following a series of tropical cyclones, underscoring its critical role during national emergencies.
In a statement, Philippine Army spokesperson Colonel Louie Dema-ala attributed the positive ratings to the Army’s dedication to serving the nation. “These achievements reflect our unwavering commitment to remain a reliable, responsive, and relevant force in the face of evolving challenges,” he said.
Dema-ala also emphasized that the survey results highlight the public’s trust in the Army to safeguard national sovereignty and promote resilience in the face of various challenges.
