Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a fare reduction for its bus-on-demand service in Business Bay, effective December 20. The new fare is Dh2, down from Dh5, providing a more affordable option for commuters.
Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at the RTA’s Public Transport Agency, emphasized that the initiative aims to improve traffic flow and enhance connectivity in the bustling Business Bay area.
The RTA plans to extend the service to 10 areas by mid-2025, with a fleet of 41 buses to support the network. The service, which can be booked via the Dubai Bus On-Demand app, is designed to bridge the gap between residential areas and public transport stations, offering a convenient solution for first- and last-mile trips.
“The fare reduction is expected to boost the service’s popularity among public transport users,” Shakri added.
The app allows users to select their route and pay fares directly, enhancing the convenience of this flexible transport option.
