The UAE has once again claimed the title of the world’s strongest passport, leading the global rankings by the “Passport Index” for the fourth year in a row. With a total score of 180, Emirati passport holders can access over 90% of the world’s countries, securing visa-free entry to 133 nations, visas on arrival in 47, and requiring pre-arranged visas for just 18.
Spain secured second place with a score of 179, surpassing Germany. Spanish citizens enjoy visa-free access to 134 countries, visas on arrival in 45, and require pre-arranged visas for 19. European countries continued to dominate the rankings, with Finland rising to third place, overtaking France and Italy. France, which scored 178, remains the strongest passport among G20 nations.
Kosovo emerged as the most improved, gaining 35 mobility points after joining the Schengen Zone earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the United States and the United Kingdom experienced significant declines. The UK dropped to 32nd place, a sharp fall from its top 10 position in 2017, while the US fell to 38th in 2024, making it the weakest passport among G7 nations.
In the GCC region, Qatar ranked 95th, followed by Kuwait in 96th and Saudi Arabia at 100th.
