Christine Requerque Pedido, a 36-year-old security guard in Al Ain, has become the latest Big Ticket millionaire, winning Dh1 million in the December e-draw. The life-changing win came from her very first Big Ticket purchase, leaving her in disbelief.
Pedido, who lives in company accommodation, works tirelessly to support her family in the Philippines. Although she first encountered Big Ticket during her initial stint in the UAE six years ago, financial challenges kept her from joining the draw. After returning to the UAE earlier this year, she saw a promotion on Facebook and decided to give it a try.
“Winning on my first ticket feels surreal,” she said. “It’s something I never imagined, but it shows that luck can find you when you least expect it.”
Pedido’s prize was the result of a collective effort with ten of her colleagues, pooling their money to buy the ticket. The group is now deliberating on how to use the winnings, considering saving or starting a business, while continuing to participate in upcoming draws.
The team is particularly excited about the live draw on January 3, which features a Dh30 million jackpot and a Maserati Grecale giveaway. “Stay hopeful and take a chance,” Pedido advised other hopeful participants.
