Actress-singer Sharon Cuneta and her husband, former senator Kiko Pangilinan, recently shared a warm moment with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Marcos during the “Konsyerto sa Palasyo para sa Pelikulang Pilipino,” held at Malacañang.
The reunion comes after a politically charged 2022, when Pangilinan ran for vice president alongside then-presidential candidate Leni Robredo in a campaign that heavily criticized the Marcos family’s legacy.
Cuneta, a vocal supporter of her husband’s candidacy in 2022, played a significant role during the campaign trail, often defending Pangilinan’s achievements as a public servant. At the height of the campaign, she emphasized their commitment to addressing hunger, poverty, and governance issues. However, Pangilinan lost the vice presidential race to Sara Duterte.
Now, with the couple attending the Malacañang event, Cuneta shared her gratitude and joy online, posting photos with the First Couple. “Nothing but love… and other friends!!! Mr. President: ‘Anytime you feel like it just come here!’” she wrote.
She described the warm reception, recalling embraces from both the President and the First Lady. “When we arrived tonight, I got the warmest hug from the FL, like no time had passed! And then of course, the warmest, biggest hug from the President. With some side kwento, just like old times!”
