Seven family members die in Saudi house fire caused by phone charger

A tragic house fire in Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, has claimed the lives of seven members of the same family. The blaze, reportedly caused by an overheating mobile phone charger, led to widespread devastation, according to Al Arabiya.

Haider Al Hassan, a relative of the victims, revealed that the fire started when a mobile charger overheated, igniting a sofa in the room. Thick smoke quickly filled the house, complicating rescue efforts.

The father, attempting to save his family, opened doors to disperse the smoke but fell. His son managed to assist him and the mother out of the residence. However, the toxic smoke proved fatal, with three family members dying from asphyxiation and four others succumbing to their injuries later.

Emergency responders from Civil Defence acted swiftly to extinguish the fire and assist survivors. Despite their efforts, the incident left a lasting impact on the family, with the mother currently hospitalized in stable condition.
