Taiwan seeks more Filipino workers with salaries up to P100,000

The Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) announced on Saturday that Taiwan is seeking more Filipino workers, particularly in the semiconductor, agriculture, and service sectors.

MECO Chairperson Cheloy Garafil highlighted that Taiwanese employers favor Filipino workers due to their skills and work ethic, with entry-level salaries ranging from ₱50,000 to ₱100,000.

In addition to job opportunities, Garafil noted that Taiwan is also open to hosting Filipino exchange students. She encouraged college and senior high school students to consider studying in Taiwan, as MECO is set to launch educational initiatives in the coming months.

“Filipino workers in Taiwan are in good conditions, with kind employers ensuring they are treated well,” said Garafil during a news forum, emphasizing the positive labor environment for OFWs.

MECO reminded recruitment agencies and OFWs to comply with Taiwan’s requirements for worker deployment.

Currently, there are nearly 200,000 Filipinos in Taiwan, with about 160,000 employed in various industries.
