UAE: Owner raises reward to AED5,000 as search for missing dog Mikay continues

More than a month after Mikay, a 2-year-old white dog with a black marking on her ear, went missing on November 2, her owner, Cate dela Rosa, is intensifying her efforts to bring her beloved pet home. In a heartfelt Facebook post, Cate announced she is raising the reward for Mikay’s safe return to AED 5,000.

“Money is nothing if Mikay is not with me,” Cate wrote. “It’s been more than a month now, but I never stop looking for her.”

Mikay was last seen in the vicinity of Al Rabeeh School in Muroor 21 street. Despite numerous leads and help from kind strangers, Cate has yet to reunite with her furry companion. Cate shared how deeply she misses Mikay, especially now that Christmas is approaching.

“I miss everything about her—the way she looked into my eyes, jumped on my chest to kiss my nose, and rolled over for belly rubs. My life feels incomplete without her,” Cate expressed.

She has been tirelessly searching for Mikay, going from street to street and distributing flyers, and she remains hopeful despite the challenges. “For some, Mikay might just be a dog, but to me, she is like my child,” she said.

Cate’s journey has highlighted the kindness of strangers who have joined her in the search. “It made me realize that there are a lot of good-hearted people out there willing to help without asking for anything in return,” she said.

As the festive season draws near, Cate prays for Mikay’s safe return. “I just wish that nothing bad happened to her and that someone is taking good care of her. I will never stop searching for her and will never give up,” Cate vowed.
