Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has initiated a major project to improve road connectivity across 19 residential areas, spanning a total of 11.5 kilometers. The plan includes traffic upgrades, roadside parking, sidewalks, and improved street lighting to meet the needs of the emirate’s growing population and urban expansion.
The initiative aims to enhance accessibility, streamline traffic flow, and reduce travel time by up to 40%. By ensuring safer and more efficient road networks, RTA seeks to improve the overall happiness and well-being of residents while maintaining high standards for road infrastructure.
Among the areas set to benefit are Al Khawaneej 1, Al Barsha South 1, Nad Shamma, Jumeirah 1, and Mirdif. Other neighborhoods, including Al Rashidiya, Al Quoz 1, and Umm Suqeim 1, are also part of the project, which is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2026.
The upgrades are part of RTA’s broader vision of seamless and sustainable mobility, addressing traffic needs with innovative solutions and increasing road capacity to improve operational efficiency.
