The UAE Cabinet, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved a Dh7 million award on Wednesday to recognize federal government employees who streamline procedures and cut bureaucracy.
“We will honour work teams, individuals, and federal entities that submit projects to shorten government procedures, provide financial resources, and reduce regulatory burdens on companies and individuals,” Sheikh Mohammed said in a post on X. He emphasized celebrating those who save time and effort for the public while consolidating the country’s competitiveness.
Additionally, the Cabinet launched the Emirates Entrepreneurship Council, led by Alia Al Mazrouei, with a Dh300 million fund to support youth projects and inspire entrepreneurship. Sheikh Mohammed encouraged the youth to harness the country’s economic opportunities, stating, “We want our youth to lead this movement to broader horizons.”
The meeting also approved the national policy for preserving modern architectural heritage, targeting the conservation of up to 1,000 sites and buildings of cultural and historical importance. Currently, 130 sites have been identified.
Other decisions included restructuring the governance system for the Education, Human Development, and Community Council, headed by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, with sectoral committees for higher education, private education, and the social sector.
Reflecting on the year, Sheikh Mohammed described it as “a good year for the best people” and expressed optimism for 2025, adding, “What is coming is better, more beautiful, and greater, God willing.”
