The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), operator of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), officially launched a centralized hub for ride-hailing services and metered taxis at Terminal 3 on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
Located within the multi-level parking building, the hub boasts 401 parking slots, 18 loading bays, and dedicated lanes for transport network vehicle service (TNVS) operators such as Grab, JoyRide, and Angkas. The facility features multiple entry and exit points, aiming to streamline traffic and improve passenger convenience.
“With this centralized hub and a variety of transportation options, we are enhancing efficiency and making travel more stress-free for passengers,” NNIC General Manager Lito Alvarez said in a GMA News report.
The hub had a soft launch on December 5 before becoming fully operational, aligning with preparations for the busy Christmas travel season. TNVS operators welcomed the development, committing to deploy dedicated airport pickup drivers to improve passenger experience.
“This partnership with NNIC ensures a smooth transition for passengers and driver-partners,” said Ronald Roda, Grab Philippines’ country head. JoyRide’s fleet is set to join the hub on December 10, with its corporate affairs SVP, Noli Eala, highlighting the addition of their Super Taxi fleet. Angkas CEO George Royeca emphasized the initiative’s benefits for travelers and airport efficiency.
NNIC has been managing NAIA since September 2024, following a P170.6-billion concession agreement with the Department of Transportation. The group plans significant investments to modernize the airport over the 25-year concession period.
