A heartfelt moment unfolded in Dubai as an inmate’s wish to be part of his daughter’s wedding was granted. The General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments arranged for him to witness the marriage contract signing through video conferencing.
The initiative reflects the department’s commitment to prioritizing inmates’ emotional well-being and maintaining family bonds. The request, submitted by the inmate’s family, was quickly approved, enabling the father to join the ceremony virtually and participate in the legal formalities.
“This opportunity allows inmates to share significant moments with their families, providing emotional support and strengthening family solidarity,” said Major General Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments.
The inmate expressed gratitude to Dubai Police for making the arrangement possible and for giving him the chance to celebrate such an important milestone.
