Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled a new three-lane bridge connecting Sheikh Rashid Road to Infinity Bridge, marking a major milestone in the Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project.
The project, which spans 4.8 kilometers from the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street intersection to Falcon Interchange on Al Mina Street, aims to enhance traffic flow and accommodate the area’s growing urban and population needs. Three bridges are being constructed as part of this initiative, with a total capacity of 19,400 vehicles per hour across all lanes.
According to RTA, 71% of the project has been completed. Another bridge on Sheikh Rashid Road, linking Al Mina Intersection to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, is expected to open by mid-January.
RTA Director General Mattar Al Tayer highlighted the bridge’s role in improving connectivity. “This new infrastructure ensures smoother traffic flow along Sheikh Rashid Road, starting from the intersection with Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street and extending to Infinity Bridge,” he said.
The Al Shindagha Corridor project also involves upgrading 4.8 kilometers of roads, building two pedestrian bridges, and installing advanced traffic systems, street lighting, and drainage networks.
