Actress Neri Naig-Miranda was admitted to a hospital on Friday night, November 29, following an order from the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 112. According to Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) spokesperson JSupt. Jayrex Bustinera, the court granted her legal team’s request for a medical evaluation.
Naig-Miranda, who has been detained on charges of syndicated estafa and violations of the Securities Regulation Code, has been allowed to stay in the hospital for five days for further examination.
Her husband, Chito Miranda, lead vocalist of the band Parokya ni Edgar, has come to her defense amid the ongoing case. In a statement, he asserted that Neri had never deceived anyone and that her kindness was often exploited, leading to her image being used in fraudulent schemes without her direct involvement.
