Filipino community in Al Khobar benefits from health-focused outreach initiatives

Rafa Medical Center has reinforced its dedication to health and wellness within the Filipino community by organizing a series of outreach events in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Partnering with local organizations, the medical center aims to promote physical fitness, preventative care, and accessible healthcare services.

The center recently supported a men’s volleyball league hosted by the Eastern Province Filipino Volleyball Community, providing on-site first aid services for players from Al Khobar, Dammam, Jubail, and Al Ahsa. This initiative underscores Rafa Medical Center’s commitment to integrating health support into community sporting events, highlighting the importance of physical activity for overall well-being.

On November 8, the center offered free blood pressure and blood sugar checks during the Founding Day celebration at the International Philippine School Al Khobar. Attendees, including teachers, parents, and guests, availed themselves of the health services provided by Rafa’s medical team. Similarly, on World Diabetes Day, November 14, Rafa Medical Center extended its outreach by hosting a booth at Mark and Save Al Khobar, a new hypermarket in the area. Customers benefited from free glucose testing, raising awareness of diabetes risks and the importance of preventative care.

Rafa Medical Center also introduced its new team member, Dr. Anette Neri, a Filipina general medicine practitioner, to the community. During an interview facilitated by influencers Happy Sandscapes and Dave Navarro, Dr. Neri shared winter health tips and emphasized the importance of preventative healthcare. “Access to regular medical checkups can be challenging for many individuals, so these initiatives aim to empower the community with knowledge and encourage proactive health management,” she said.
