Various Philippine tourist destinations are now showcased on massive LED displays in New York’s Times Square, as part of the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) “Love the Philippines” campaign to promote the country as a world-class destination.
The 15-second video highlighting the beauty of the Philippines plays at Broadway between 44th and 45th Streets and will run until New Year’s Eve, a time when millions of tourists flock to the area. In addition to the Times Square video, “Love the Philippines” banners are also displayed on New York City taxis.
The DOT allocated over ₱2 million for the campaign, which aims to captivate New York tourists and encourage them to visit the Philippines.
New York Tourism Attaché Francisco Lardizabal emphasized the strategic opportunity to showcase the country’s attractions in Times Square during the bustling holiday season.
