Anne Curtis, the award-winning actress and “It’s Showtime” host, unveiled her Madame Tussauds wax figure in an event held in Makati City on Wednesday. The figure, which perfectly captures her likeness down to her moles, freckles, and signature smile, will soon be displayed at the Madame Tussauds museum at The Peak in Hong Kong.
Anne is the first-ever Filipino actress and host to be featured in the prestigious museum. Her wax figure is posed holding a microphone, symbolizing her illustrious career spanning 27 years. During the unveiling, Anne shared the significance of the microphone in her life, saying, “Whether it be hosting, giving a speech as a UNICEF ambassador, or doing concerts, the microphone has been such a powerful tool for me, and I felt it should be part of my wax figure.”
Dressed in an elegant cream Dior gown, which Anne wore during a Tiffany & Co. event marking her return to the fashion scene, the figure reflects Anne’s timeless and sophisticated style. The actress shared that the outfit choice represents a personal and iconic moment for her.
Anne expressed her excitement for Filipinos to visit her wax figure in Hong Kong, playfully referencing a meme about fans returning home for her birthday. “Now you don’t have to worry about coming home for my birthday because you can visit me at Madame Tussauds,” she quipped.
Beyond the honor of having her own wax figure, Anne sees this milestone as a way to showcase Filipino talent on the global stage. “It’s about time that we make a name for ourselves worldwide,” she said in a GMA News report, adding that she feels both honored and grateful for this recognition.
Anne’s wax figure will be available for public viewing starting December 9, joining other Filipino icons like Manny Pacquiao, Pia Wurtzbach, Catriona Gray, and Lea Salonga in Madame Tussauds. Present at the unveiling were Anne’s family, including her sister Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Jasmine’s boyfriend Jeff Ortega, and their mother, Carmen Curtis-Smith.
