Heart Evangelista recently shared sentimental memories of renewing her wedding vows with husband Chiz Escudero on Balesin Island last February. The couple first tied the knot at the same location in 2015.
Speaking on her show, Heart World, the actress and fashion icon revealed that Chiz proposed to her for the second time during a challenging period in her life. Heart admitted she initially hesitated to plan the ceremony, wanting to truly feel love beyond formalities.
“It took a year for me to feel ready. Around nine months ago, I realized it truly mattered. The planning only took a couple of months,” Heart explained.
The renewal of vows took place on February 15, a day after Valentine’s Day and Heart’s birthday. Heart expressed how this second wedding felt like the first, describing Chiz as her “greatest angel” who healed her with unconditional love.
The intimate ceremony was attended by close friends and family. Heart’s mother, Cecilia Ongpauco, walked her down the aisle, while her father, Rey Ongpauco, sent a heartfelt video message from the U.S., where he was receiving medical treatment.
Heart wore a custom Ellie Saab gown, while Chiz donned an all-white suit for the occasion.
