UAE telecommunications company e& has issued a warning to its customers about a fraudulent promotion circulating on social media.
The scam, shared via WhatsApp, claims to offer a free 53GB data package in celebration of the UAE’s 53rd National Day, now called Eid Al Etihad. The message reads: “UAE 53rd National Day special offer: 53GB available on all networks* I got mine! It’s valid for three months.*” It also includes a suspicious link encouraging users to click.
In response, e& advised residents to remain vigilant. On Instagram, the telecom provider posted: “Stay alert — ignore suspicious links and verify offers before clicking.” A similar warning was shared on X, urging users to double-check links and avoid falling for fake promotions.
e& emphasized the importance of verifying the authenticity of offers directly through official channels to prevent online scams.
