A fire broke out on a fishing boat in the port of Marbah, Fujairah, on Thursday night, leaving one person dead and two others injured, Fujairah Police confirmed on Friday.
According to a Khaleej Times report, authorities received a report about the incident at 9:48 PM. The injured individuals were transported to the hospital by the national ambulance. One of the victims succumbed to injuries later, while the case remains under investigation.
In a separate maritime incident on the same day, a person suffering from a critical medical condition aboard a fishing vessel near Zirku Island in Abu Dhabi was rescued by the UAE’s National Guard team. The vessel was located 10 nautical miles from the island.
Responding swiftly to the report, a Coast Guard search and rescue boat, along with a medical team, provided immediate first aid. The individual was then transferred to Zirku Island Clinic for further treatment.
