Pia Wurtzbach meets First Lady Liza Marcos to boost HIV-AIDS awareness efforts

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach recently met with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos to discuss plans for raising awareness about HIV and AIDS. The gathering, which included a dinner with their respective teams, revolved around Wurtzbach’s upcoming exclusive auction titled “Love Gala, Eternal Elegance: A Night of Timeless Love,” set to take place on December 3 at Marquis Events Place in BGC, Taguig.

The First Lady shared her support on Instagram, expressing solidarity with Wurtzbach’s advocacy. “I stand with LoveYourself and Ms. Pia Wurtzbach in their mission to raise awareness and provide support for people with HIV/AIDS,” Marcos posted. She praised the initiative for creating “safe, compassionate spaces” and offering vital resources to empower those affected.

Wurtzbach, in turn, expressed her gratitude by reposting the images and commenting on the importance of the discussion. “The work we’re doing at LoveYourself is making a real difference, and we were excited to share our achievements and future plans with the First Lady,” she noted. Emphasizing the critical nature of collaboration, she added, “We believe the fight against HIV-AIDS is a national priority.”

The auction will feature significant items from Wurtzbach’s career, including the silver dress she wore as a Top 15 finalist and her pageant sashes from her journey in Binibining Pilipinas to Miss Universe. Notably, her personal notebooks containing reflections and notes will also be available. Proceeds from the event will support the construction of a center dedicated to educating and assisting young individuals with prevention and treatment resources related to HIV.

“Grateful for the time and attention she gave us, and for the opportunity to continue working towards a healthier future. Maraming salamat po, First Lady Liza Marcos,” Wurtzbach concluded.
