Content creator and car enthusiast Angie Mead King recently experienced a life-threatening incident when her red NSX sports car caught fire while she was driving along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
King shared the aftermath on her Instagram account, posting a video of the charred remains of her vehicle. The bottom half of the sports car had been completely destroyed by flames.
In a subsequent video, King reassured her followers about her condition. “Hi guys, thanks for checking [in], I am alive. We gotta take care of towing the car. The car is gone, it’s literally gone, caught on fire after the exit. It’s gone. No words,” she said, visibly shaken.
Describing the terrifying moment, King added, “I’m okay, my lungs hurt, the car was on fire while I was driving it, and then the car dropped down and basically burst into flames.” She also confirmed that responders at SLEX managed to extinguish the fire.
Reflecting on the incident, King explained that while the exact cause was unknown, modifications made to the car might have contributed to the fire. “There’s nothing I can do, the car is gone. There’s no way to rebuild it,” she noted. “The rear chassis is completely burned, the wiring is completely burned. The metal is probably warped because the flames were intense.”
King’s followers expressed relief in the comments, prioritizing her safety over the loss of the car. One comment read, “It’s just a car. Your life is way more important. Thank God you’re safe!” Another said, “Losing a car is tough, but losing a life is far worse. Glad you’re okay.”
Before the incident, King had shared on Instagram that she was preparing for a long day, proudly showcasing her car. The Acura NSX, known for its high-performance engineering, is a two-seater sports car developed by Honda and first introduced in 1989.
Despite the loss, King’s safety was celebrated by her fans and followers.
