Sheikh Zayed Road will experience brief closures on November 10 and November 24 for two major events celebrating the Dubai Fitness Challenge: the Dubai Ride and Dubai Run. These temporary road closures, scheduled only for the early morning hours, are part of Dubai’s efforts to promote fitness and community involvement.
The first closure on November 10 will accommodate cyclists participating in Dubai Ride, allowing riders of all ages and abilities to cycle along this iconic highway. Participants must complete their ride by 8:15 a.m., with roads reopening soon after.
On November 24, runners will take to Sheikh Zayed Road for Dubai Run, which includes both a 5km and a 10km route. The 5km run starts near the Museum of the Future, ending near Dubai Mall, while the 10km course crosses Dubai Canal Bridge, finishing near DIFC. Runners will begin in waves, with the final wave departing by 8 a.m. to enable swift road reopening.
To support the events, Dubai Metro will remain operational, providing alternative transport options for residents and visitors. Participants and spectators are encouraged to use public transit or plan alternate routes.
