OFW Party-List Representative Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino and the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA – Las Piñas (UPHSD) have established a partnership aimed at providing partial scholarships for graduate studies to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families. The program will support those pursuing advanced degrees in business, education, nursing, and public administration, PNA reported.
The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed by Rep. Magsino and Dr. Eduardo C. Zialcita, UPHSD Dean of Graduate School, at the OFW Tulong at Serbisyo Center in Parañaque City.
As part of this initiative, the OFW Party-List will endorse eligible applicants for graduate programs at UPHSD’s Las Piñas campus. Endorsed candidates holding a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution will receive a 50 percent scholarship, provided they meet the university’s admission criteria.
“We are thankful to UPHSD for extending this opportunity to OFWs and their families,” Magsino shared, noting that this 50 percent scholarship can significantly ease the financial burden for those seeking to pursue a master’s degree.
This collaboration is part of the OFW Party-List’s commitment to empowering OFWs and their families through affordable education, fostering a brighter future for Filipino communities both domestically and abroad.
