Philippine Embassy urges Filipinos in UAE to take advantage of extended amnesty program

The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi has issued an advisory, reminding Filipinos in the UAE of the extended amnesty period provided by the UAE government, which now runs until December 31, 2024. The extension, announced by the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP), offers residency violators a final chance to rectify their status without incurring penalties.

In line with the UAE’s 53rd Union Day celebrations, the extended grace period reflects the country’s commitment to humanitarian values. The Embassy is encouraging eligible Filipinos who have not yet availed themselves of the program to seize this opportunity to regularize their residency status or make arrangements to return to the Philippines.

This is the last chance for violators to settle their status, as fines and entry bans will be enforced following the December deadline.

The Embassy’s advisory echoes statements from Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director-General of the ICP, who highlighted the humanitarian and cultural significance of this extension. The initiative comes as a response to appeals from residents wishing to settle their status, and it follows a surge in demand at service centers prior to the initial October 31 deadline.

Filipinos are encouraged to reach out to the Philippine Embassy for support in navigating the amnesty program, ensuring they can take full advantage of this final opportunity.
