Veteran journalist Karen Davila has found herself at the center of another viral moment, amusing social media audiences once again. During the Monday evening broadcast of TV Patrol, Davila accidentally walked behind her co-anchor, Noli de Castro, while he was delivering the lead story. Unaware she was in the frame, she quickly turned around and exited the shot after catching her reflection on a monitor. Her brief, startled appearance has since garnered over 700,000 views.
In the broadcast’s closing segment, the hosts shared a lighthearted laugh about the unplanned appearance. Apologizing on-air, Davila joked, “Sorry po ah, naging white lady ako sa likod ni Kabayan [Noli]. Hindi po sinasadya ‘yun,” referring humorously to her ghost-like surprise.
Davila later took to social media platform X to address the mishap, posting, “Good Morning. May ‘white lady’ na naglakad. Sorry guys! Have a good one today!” The next evening, she elaborated on the incident during TV Patrol, explaining that she was simply headed to the makeup room. “Isang malaking aksidente po ‘yun,” she said, clarifying that she had mistimed her walk, assuming a video segment had already started.
Social media users reacted with humor, sharing memes and jokes. “This is her lowkey reminding us ‘Magbibirthday na ulit ako,’” one user wrote, referencing another viral clip of Davila with singer Lyca Gairanod, where they discovered they share a birthday. Others joined in with relatable anecdotes and humorous videos, making Davila’s accidental cameo another memorable moment in her storied career.
This latest meme adds to Davila’s legacy, alongside her achievements as the first UN Women National Goodwill Ambassador for the Philippines and an award-winning journalist recognized by the New York Festival, UNICEF, and the Senate of the Philippines.
