Vice Ganda received the prestigious Bahaghari Champion award at this year’s Bahaghari Awards, organized by the Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP), celebrating her role as a prominent advocate and role model for the LGBTQIA+ community. The recognition highlights Vice’s unwavering commitment to equality and her influential voice in promoting LGBTQIA+ rights.
“Vice Ganda remains a vital force in advancing representation and visibility for the community,” PFIP representatives shared in an ABS-CBN News report, emphasizing her impact across various diversity initiatives supported by private sector groups in the Philippines.
In response, Vice expressed gratitude on social media, vowing to uphold her advocacy. “Patuloy na mamumuksa ang gandang twoah ng kadiliman, at mananatiling bahaghari para sa lahat ng madlang people, lalo na sa LGBTQIA+ Community!” she said.
Senator Risa Hontiveros was also celebrated at the event, receiving the Ally of the Year award for her dedicated support of LGBTQIA+ rights, particularly as the lead sponsor of the SOGIE Equality Bill in the Senate.
