Actress and host Kim Chiu, along with her team members Ogie Alcasid, MC Muah, and Lassy, were crowned champions in It’s Showtime’s annual “Magpasikat 2024” competition. Their performance, which centered on themes of resilience, rest, and self-care in the demanding entertainment industry, captivated both the audience and judges.
Following the announcement, Kim expressed her gratitude, revealing that their chosen charity partner is the Angat Buhay Foundation. “Malaking tulong po ‘to sa lahat ng mga nasalanta,” Chiu shared, indicating the importance of their donation, particularly for those affected by Typhoon Kristine. Their group secured a cash prize of PHP 300,000, which will be directed toward assisting communities impacted by the recent calamity.
The team’s winning act was noted for its layered approach, blending Ogie’s original music, a skit from MC and Lassy, and Kim’s dynamic aerial dance performance. Through these creative elements, they conveyed the pressures of show business and highlighted the need for mental wellness.
