‘Naka-iPhone pero walang P3k’: Borrower calls out lender for ‘singil nang singil’

A Facebook post from TCU Secret Files, a popular online platform where students of Taguig City University (TCU) share confessions and random thoughts, has sparked laughter, debates, and reactions across social media. The post features a borrower who called out her lender for persistently asking for the return of a ₱3,000 loan—and the internet is having a field day with it.

In a now-viral post, identified only as Joy, publicly complained about being asked to pay back her debt just one week after the agreed deadline. The post, both cheeky and unapologetic, reads:

“NEXT TIME WAG NA KAYO MAGPA-UTANG KUNG DI NYO NAMAN KAYANG I LET-GO YUNG PERA. Tulad netong dati kong classmate na akala nya ikayayaman nya yung 3k na inutang ko… Babayaran kita pag nasa mood na ko 🤣”

The confession was accompanied by a screenshot showing her lender politely reminding her of the unpaid debt via a text message:

“Hi Joy, good day, ask lang sana kita regarding sa utang mong 3k. Sabi mo kasi 1st week ng October mo ako babayaran eh October 12 na. Pwede ba kita masingil? Paki-seen naman. Hello?”

The lender had even tried calling her, but Joy seemed more concerned about her classmate’s “broke” behavior than her delayed payment.

Naturally, Facebook users had plenty to say about this unusual take on debt responsibility. Comments quickly poured in, mixing humor, frustration, and moral lessons.

One user joked, “Naka-iPhone, may pang-longpress tas walang 3k.” Another chimed in, “Sana yung yabang naipangbabayad ng utang.”

Many sympathized with the lender, with one user pointing out: “Matuto kasi magbayad agad sa nasabi date, may pangangailangan din kasi ang tao na pinag utangan mo.” Another added, “Kahit pa 20 pesos yan, pag sinabing utang at pinangako mong babayaran, dapat tuparin mo.”

Some users recounted their own struggles with borrowers, sharing their frustrations about loans that were never returned. One commenter even went viral for saying, “Yung iba malalaki pa utang. Meron pa nga tag-100K. Ako pa nahihiya maningil kung kailan need ko.”

The story has sparked a mix of entertainment and reflection among readers, with one netizen commenting: “Ito yung mga paniguradong walang asenso eh, mga mapanlamang sa kapwa pinahiram na kinupal pa.”
