More than 20 abandoned vehicles, some left as far back as 2014, have been found in parking areas across Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
According to its website, the airport’s operator, New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), is taking steps to remove these vehicles to enhance safety and free up parking spaces for passengers.
NNIC is giving vehicle owners a final opportunity to retrieve their cars before they are towed and impounded. The corporation has waived all fees to encourage owners to reclaim their vehicles.
“These vehicles are not only taking up valuable space but also pose safety and security risks due to their deteriorating condition,” NNIC said.
An ongoing audit across all terminals is expected to reveal more abandoned vehicles. Owners will need to present proof of ownership and valid ID to recover their cars. Unclaimed vehicles will be impounded in government facilities after the given grace period, with NNIC coordinating with authorities for proper procedures.
