Mylah Roque, wife of former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, faces an arrest order issued by House lawmakers on Friday, October 11, after repeatedly missing a congressional probe into illegal offshore gaming operations without valid reason.
The House committee, investigating the Roques’ financial records and properties linked to Biancham Holdings, ordered Mylah’s detention at the House of Representatives following her consistent refusal to appear. A show cause order was previously issued on September 20, compelling her to submit documents and attend the hearings.
Lawmakers are questioning the couple’s substantial asset increase from 2014 to 2018, alongside Mylah’s involvement in leasing property to Chinese nationals associated with an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in Bamban, Tarlac.
Mylah, like her husband, has rejected the invitations and orders, citing alleged abuse of legislative power by the House. Despite Harry’s attempts to block the arrest order through the Supreme Court, his petition was denied. Harry Roque has been active on social media, responding to the House’s actions while evading arrest, and authorities are now searching for both him and his wife.
