Learner’s passport: Dubai’s latest tool to support children’s education from day one

Dubai has announced an ambitious education strategy for 2033, aimed at making learning a lifelong pursuit for citizens and residents, no matter their stage in life. The strategy, spearheaded by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), will support students, parents, and educators through various educational milestones.

One key initiative is the introduction of a “learner’s passport” for children born in the emirate, helping parents make informed decisions about their child’s education from birth. The strategy also prioritizes high-quality early childhood education, with a focus on diagnosing and supporting children of determination and gifted learners.

In school education, the plan ensures Emirati students receive top-tier education while promoting a culture of respect and support for teachers. Career guidance and life skills camps will also be introduced to prepare students for their future.

At the university level, partnerships with international institutions will offer qualifications for future jobs, and vocational institutes will provide alternative career paths to strengthen the economy.

Ultimately, Dubai aims to become a global leader in education, offering lifelong learning opportunities to all segments of society, with an emphasis on innovation, safety, and emotional well-being.
