Kuwait deports 130,000 expatriates over four years, upgrades deportation facilities

Kuwait has deported around 130,000 expatriates in the last four years, according to Brigadier Jassim Al Misbah, Director of the Deportation Department. The announcement came during his visit to the deportation center in Jleeb Al Shuyoukh, where he oversaw the immediate transfer of detainees to a newly upgraded facility.

The new building, part of an expansion plan, will house up to 1,400 detainees. The male section is nearly complete, with 90% of the work done and capacity for 1,000 individuals. The women’s section will be relocated in the next two months.

Al Misbah emphasized that deportees have access to landlines for contacting their families, and embassies can assist detainees with consular needs. A special gate has been established at the airport to streamline the deportation process, separating deportees from regular passengers.
